Pelham volleyball standout to play in all-star game

Pelham High School middle blocker/outside hitter Porsha Tolbert will participate in the Alabama High School Athletic Association’s North-South all-star game during All-Star Sports Week in Montgomery in July.
Tolbert, who will be entering her senior season in the fall of 2011, will participate on the South all-star team against the North.
The all-star game will take place July 14 at 4 p.m. on the Faulkner University campus in Montgomery.
Tolbert finished her junior season as the Panthers’ team leader with 425 kills. Tolbert, who finished with 59 service aces and 30 blocks, also led Pelham defensively with 405 digs.
The South team will be coached by Bill Oldfield of Providence Christian School and Metta Roberts of Robertsdale High School.
